Get in the Van

This was my first BMX trip for work and for some reason I was under the impression that we didn't have much of a budget for hotels. I didn't really know what I was actually in charge of or how much leeway we had. I probably should've asked more questions before loading up and driving away...

As a result, we ended up sleeping in the van a whole bunch, and just camping in random places along the way. At one point, we ended up in what we thought was a campsite but then quickly realized it was actually a summer camp for kids. There was a long, winding, dirt driveway to the actual cabins though and we were too exhausted to go elsewhere, so we said fuck it and just parked in a little clearing. We haphazardly tried to hide the van with palm fronds and I had dreams the whole night about camp counselors finding us and having to awkwardly explain why a bunch of grown men are camped out on their property.

It was a loosely planned trip, but it all worked out and was a shit ton of fun. I couldn't have asked for a better crew to drive up and down California and Oregon with. We even came home with a fun video!
