SpaceX Falcon Heavy Launch

I booked a last minute trip across the country just to hang out on a bridge in Florida and watch my first ever rock launch.
Between the Falcon Heavy's inaugural flight and its side boosters landing in synchronicity, the best word to describe it all would be surreal. It's also a little eerie when they land. It's a lot like lightning and thunder in the sense that you see it happen before you can actually hear its rumble.
Aside from that, there was also something depressing, yet completely uplifting, about witnessing first hand how much effort and resources it takes to get off this planet. From primitive campfires, to painting the heavens with a fiery brush, it was a bittersweet reminder of how far we've gone and much further we've yet to go.
